About the Designer
Gianfranco Frattini (1926–2004) was a prominent Italian architect and designer. He graduated in architecture from the Milan Polytechnic in 1953 and began his career working in Gio Ponti’s studio. Frattini became one of the key figures in mid-century modern Italian design, creating furniture and lighting for leading manufacturers such as Cassina, Bernini, Artemide, and Poltrona Frau. His work is known for its elegant proportions, refined detailing, and harmonious blend of traditional craftsmanship with modernist simplicity.

About the Manufacturer
Pierluigi Ghianda (1926–) is a renowned Italian manufacturer from Bovisio Masciago, in Brianza. He took over the family workshop, Bottega Ghianda, and became one of the most respected figures in high-end woodworking. Known for exceptional craftsmanship, he collaborated with leading architects and designers such as Gae Aulenti, Achille Castiglioni and international brands. His work focuses on precision joinery, superior materials, and refined details, often without the use of nails or screws. Ghianda pieces are prized for their quality and technical excellence.
