Poliarte Wall Lamp by Albano Poli in clear Murano glass

Mid-century Murano

€1750.00

Mid-Century Clear Murano Glass Wall Light by Albano Poli for Poliarte, 1970s.

The design features a geometric, mosaic-like composition of numerous small glass cubes arranged in an abstract, layered stepped structure. The cubes are translucent with a subtle icy finish, creating a crystalline, almost jewel-like effect. The overall form appears square or rectangular in base, with overlapping or stacked glass panels forming a three-dimensional, sculptural relief — almost like a modern take on stained glass but in thick, fused blocks. Light passes through the varying thicknesses and colors, casting intricate shadows.

Typical of Poliarte's 1960s–1970s production attributed to Albano Poli himself, this piece showcases Poliarte's style of experimentation with how light interacts with glass to create dynamic illumination.

About the manufacturer

Poliarte was founded in Verona in 1968 by Albano Poli. An Italian lighting company that started off in a factory building with about thirty-five craftsmen designing table lamps, sconces, chandeliers, standing lamps and wall panels. Each lamp was created and assembled by hand in production runs numbering from as few as a single example to hundreds.

Poli was intrigued by how light brings out the beauty of glass in all its forms.Originally trained in classical stained glass artistry, he reinvented the stained glass window to create three-dimensional lighting objects like this iconic piece. Poliarte pieces are highly sought-after mid-century modern and space-age collectibles, celebrated for their innovative handcrafted Murano-style glasswork and dramatic play of light, color, and texture.
